The Official Swimming Thread

Why didn't he go back.to Loughborough?.did he just age out.

It could be transformative for anyone else to can fall in with that group also. it could set a precedent of excellence in Dublin for the next 20 or 30years with the right conintunity
I guess he outgrew the place - even though it is a hub for Olympic medal aspirants.
Andy Reid is a big factor here - he's been connected with Wiffen all the way up.
Wiffen, John Shortt and, if she gets her mojo working, Mona McSharry, are our medal hopefuls for LA. There are a few others who could target finals.

Wiffen is taking a big risk - one thing I didn't fancy in the interview is that he seems to want to go back to what he had a few years ago in terms of structure / regime. Sometimes you can't go back - you have to define a new way of hitting targets. Best of luck to him - he's earned the right to go at this whatever way he wants.

Massive team selected for the Euros and announced today - easily the biggest ever. Some performance out of John Szaranek and the team up at UL. This is exactly the scale you need to be operating at two year out from the Olympics.
