Arnie is gone

A statement from Aussie Swimming - "
After a year-long break, the Aussie legend has decided not to return to competitive swimming.
At just 25, the Olympic and world champion says goodbye after 18 years in the pool 10 of them representing Australia.
With 8 Olympic medals, 9 World titles, and a world record still standing at 1:52.23, she leaves the sport at the very top.
Thank you, Arnie, for inspiring a generation"
One for the nerds but this, for me, is her greatest swim - takes down the "unstoppable" Ledecky in the 400 in Tokyo. It was the first night of the gala and a real statement from the Aussies - "we're back". Almost a full body length down at the 250 mark in an Olympic final and steams through from there - class.
