Yeah, I'm not sure the not spending thing stands up to scrutiny. Whether they're really spending well is another matter altogether. A fair bit of waste in recent times. N'dombele was a right shit-show. Richarlison is fucked from injuries, and there's been a lot of investment in young potential, which is good, but maybe there's a bit of a gap there if the likes of Gray and Bergvall aren't quite ready yet. Then there's the Korean and Croatian chaps about to join, who'll probably also be on that list.

It wouldn't surprise me if Levy has his eye on Iraola.

The difference between level and non-level game states is eye watering. A definite lesson in not just trusting the overall stats. What I'd take from it is that this squad is probably good enough to be right there with the best but that Ange is becoming less likely to be the man to do it as time moves on.
