I don't see what Veliz has done to even be considered to be within an Ass's roar of first choice striker. He's for the future, IF he turns out to be good enough.

Son is doing just fine up top, leave him there.

Yea maybe Veliz is too young. Certainly as yet unproven. But the defence won tonight because Kulu for all his graft produced nothing.

Nah, Kulusevski is going nowhere. He's definitely tidy enough to keep his place. I could understand rotating Richarlison due to his giveaway nature but Kulu is good enough at recycling possession and creating danger.

As I said works like a dog, no argument there but there's no end product. When he came first he'd take people on, now it's cut back in on his left or back to Romero. You're right, it's doing a job but it means no creativity on that side.

My opinion would be that you're being harsh in saying no creativity. He's no Salah but he's alright.


Discount Perisic, Johnson and Solomon here because their numbers are skewed by lower minutes.

Also, Maddison is more biased towards the left channel so there's generally more dynamic inter-play on that side.

Both Vicario & Van de Ven have performed beyond my expectations. Sarr has way more pace than I thought. Bit like a giraffe at times with those long legs. Johnson is another player who should flourish under Postecoglou. Porro's attempt at defending for the Palace goal - WTF? Strap him to a chair with his eyes forced open and left there overnight with that clip on repeat.

10 players over 75% of available minutes so far. Sure enough, they're only in two comps but it still takes a squad to push as far as you can in the PL (or a hell of a lot of good fortune). Obviously, Bentancur will be eased back into being first choice, but the likes of Emerson, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso & Johnson should maybe be used a bit more when possible in the coming busy spell to the end of the year.

I'd agree. By contrast, Liverpool and Arsenal have 5 and 6 players above the 75% mark respectively.

Certainly you'd think Brennan Johnson could be rotated in more often with little to no drop off in quality. Maybe a bit less so for the other three, but the team would benefit more long-term if they were given a bit more playing time. At the very least they'll be sharper when injuries/suspensions inevitable kick in & there's no choice but to throw them in.

Just from observation, the optimal amount seems to be about four or five, with a handy rotation of players below that.

I noticed even in the Spring time last season, Arsenal had six or seven, so it's not too surprising they couldn't see it out.

I suppose it's a tough one for managers as to whether they proactively rotate from the word go or do they wait until it's enforced. Spurs don't have much luxury beyond the current first eleven.

I'm really enjoying the change of style and the points in the bag to date but there'll be plenty of tough times ahead. They might just need that fifth place being allocated as a CL spot.
