I remember him playing. He was a very good player tbf.

Slow though. Himself and Cliff Thornburn had some really exciting matches.

Mark Allen seems to be in a weird kind of space at the moment. His shot time has almost doubled in recent times. Shaun Murphy called him out on it in the UK Champs. He missed an easy pink when amongst the balls at 5-2 up and just seemed to mentally capitulate after that.
When he's in that mode many of his frames take the same route. He gets in amongst the balls and they could be set-up like a practice routine and instead of just getting on with it , it's almost like he's having to convince himself that the shot he's about to play is indeed the correct one instead of just playing naturally. There'll be a lot of checking and double-checking and a bit of head shaking and then 4 shots later he is out of position.
Definitely needs the help of a Sports Psychologist in my opinion.
