The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

€12.95 for the mini breakfast

€14.95 for the full Irish

€17.95 for the "Big County", which you'd want to go on hunger strike for a week first if you plan on finishing it

All come with complimentary tea/coffee/orange juice

Decent enough value.

Id not have the full Irish much but what grinds my gears is places that charge extra for tea/coffee on top.

It wouldn't be my type of food at all. If I was having a hotel breakfast I'd just ask for a few poached eggs and some white pudding. But it's almost tradition at this stage to have the breakfast there if there's an early rugby game on.

Agreed on the tea and coffee. The margins on both are so big, it's very stingy to be charging people for them on top of a breakfast. A cup of tea is hot water and a feckin teabag ffs.

That is one AWFULLY run pub. A pub for pricks.

I went in one day for a match, I think it was Chelsea vs Spurs. This c**t at the bar was reading the paper. I sat up next to him to watch the match.

"Excuse me, you're in my way"

"You're reading the paper"

Yer man just looked outraged, and after a few seconds said something like "I can read a paper and watch a match at the same time".

I told him to fuck off, and he complained to the barman Tom. Fucking child. 😅

Luckily Tom and I would be friendly so he just said "oh right yeah" to this wanker.

Not sure if I've been in since. The food is overpriced and poor quality, and they're always making unnecessary changes to the place. Who's idea was it to knock that wall between the bar and the "restaurant"? Absolutely ruined the place.

I'd nearly pop over for a pint as I'm in Douglas but I'm wearing an Ireland jersey and genuinely don't know if they'd serve me as I'm not wearing a Tommy Hilfinger polo and boat shoes.

It's a shame as Mick Gilmartin who runs it is a gentleman and in my experience the place is flying when he's there, and falls to shit when he's not.

When the rugby is on we’ve met in there a few times as it’s geographically central for us. Small top bar up near the outside patio. Stools at the bar, unimpeded view of a decent sized TV. Food is a bit meh for what you’re charged alright, there are a few around who wouldn’t know if the ball was pumped or stuffed, and frequently the sound is turned off in the build up but where else to watch it?
John O’s is run by an absolute gowl
O’Driscolls is like a bookies but serving drink ( wouldn’t be surprised to find a jockey on horseback in there some day)
South County ain’t the place it was now either.
The Briar is well past its good old days too 😔

Lads I passed KCs at around 17:30 yesterday and thought it was closed. Nobody outside. As I came closer to it I saw two people inside. At that time on a Saturday?

I know the place was sold, has that impacted business?

Now I'll just wait for the "kCS iS ShITe" brigade to arrive.

I did actually go for a pint in Barry's after as my curiosity was peaked by Lee Fields' post. Jaysus it is bad. And I mean bad.
