The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Jez you are older than I thought.
I'll have to adjust my fantasies accordingly.

On the gigs, don't forget the few that played in that horse shed up in North Cork.
Pearl Jam
Meat Loaf
Dolly Parton
James Brown

In f*cking Millstreet like!
Mad times.

Wasn't Bob Dylan due to play there too but cancelled the morning of the show?

Also don't forget the feckin Eurovision. 🤣

Imagine all the French and Austrians trading the boulevards of Europe for a fucking cowshed in Millstreet 🤣

My grandparents were at that, as well as the 1994 Eurovision where Riverdance premiered. My grandad is actually in the video of it on YouTube.

I think Meat Loaf gave out stink after it, wondering why he was playing in a shed that smelt like horse crap in the middle of nowhere.

He was a cute whore that Duggan fella all the same, saw a gap in the market for concerts in Cork and thought "f*ck it, I've a big shed, I'll clane it out and put up a bit of scaffolding".
Cha-CHING!!

Meatloaf played in Conna on that totally random Irish tour where he also played in Westmeath. He called it the lowest point of his career.

Remember when Def Leppard did a tour of Ireland before Hysteria came out? They were the first shows they did after the drummer lost his arm.

They played Cork, Waterford, and... Ballybunnion 🤣🤘

There was a good RTE doc on that Meatloaf "tour" a few months back, probably up on the player, well worth a watch.

I remember there was some rave thingy on there when I was 17/18 and me and the buddies decided to make the trek even though none of us had the slightest bit of interest in rave music.
After asking how the f*ck to get to Millstreet, off we went.
I remember they were handing out free condoms on the way in.
Ass and tits out everywhere.
People riding in the bushes.
It was like Ibiza in a shed.
Incredible.

My second favourite Eurovision story is that RTE laid down about 2 miles worth of Power and AV cable all around the Green Glen's to facilitate broadcast

This cost a fortune and it was all on the understanding it was a temporary job and would be ripped out after and taken back to montrose or wherever.

Noelie C arrived on the night before the show and poured about 5 tonnes of concrete over the whole lot for "health and safety reasons" RTE had to walk away from the lot so all the gear was laid and ready for Eubank Collins.

My favourite story was that apparently Blanaid Ni Coffaigh got absolutely bananas drunk on the afternoon of the show. She was supposed to be doing all the green room hit bits but went full Henry Sellers "I made the BBC" when Tom Savage told her to go and get a cup of coffee. Fucked her G&T into his face and ended up Lorrying into pints with the lads down the Mal Paso (IYKYK)

Did John Creedon present that?

Someone, I think it was him, visited Moate in Westmeath and interviewed the local concert promoter. He put on Meat Loaf, Status Quo, and Dolly Parton in the local community hall. It sounds mad but there's some studio that a few big names have recorded in. Michael Jackson was there for a while.

There's a studio in Ballyvourney too that has had some big names, including David Gilmour

Jesus Eubank vs Collins in Millstreet, talk about a blast from the past! I vividly remember listening to that on the radio with my parents. Wow. That brings back a nice memory, nice one

On the subject of Eurovision, I had a Eurovision winner play at my wedding 😎
