Nirvana?I don't think there is any city of Cork's size that has punched so far above it's weight in terms of attracting big concerts, in the whole world.
The Marquee is largely to thank for that.
Like, a regional city in a peripheral location on an Island on the edge of Europe. We've done so well.
Michael Jackson, Prince, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Paul Simon, Roger Waters, Duran Duran, P!nk, Lady Gaga, U2, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo etc etc etc.
The amount of massive acts that have played in Cork is mind-blowing.
Slayer and Anthrax played on the same night in the Marquee ffs. That'd sell out Madison Square Garden.
One of the great sadness's of my life is that I was too young for that gig.Nirvana?

Restaurant in the Gibson Hotel next door is very nice and a good buzz there before a gig. If you happen to be driving, you can book parking there too.Looking for a recommendation please. Somewhere close to the 3 arena, casual dining would be perfect.
That's a shame. One of the great sadness's of my life is that I was too young for that gig.
My friend's husband was in the gig in Dublin on the same tour. He missed Nirvana because he stayed at the bar trying to chat up the barmaid. That's a shame.
I was there
