The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Remember that one in Burma who everyone fawned over til everyone realised she was nasty stuff. I'd say you were a massive fan of hers

Yes I lied
about getting a taxi directly to Blackrock Castle for €17. Oh bless me father for my sins

Which terrorist was that?

Nope.

We've already established here that you're a liar.

Aung San Suu Kyi

I paid good money to go to U2 in Croker once and that absolute prick Bono sang Happy Birthday to her even though she wasn't even on this side of the fucking world. Then she turned out to be a despot, I want a tenner back

25th June 2005, I was there as well.

They cut Walk On, possibly my favorite U2 song, in half, so we could sing her happy birthday

The bollox.

That was the second worst thing to happen that day. The worst was Paddy Casey supporting.

What would you expect from a pig only a grunt?

lol.. you'll remember the other half of his pontificating then when he put the blindfold on so we could all understand what its like to see no hope in your life maaaan, like the poor in africa maaaan. I spent that 5 minutes hoping the cunt would take a misstep and fall off the edge of the stage

They're a great band but like the other three must be mortified when he comes out with this shit.

Am I going mad or did they play Vertigo twice that night?

Like the story of U2 gig in Scotland when Bono has the lights dimmed and starts clapping his hands slowly, saying "every time I Clap, a child in Africa dies" and someone in the audience shouts out in thick Glaswegian accent "well stop clapping then, you evil c**t".

I actually remember Edge looking at him shaking his head at the shite he was going on with, completely oblivious to the irony of it all.

I have no idea re Vertigo - great intro to that tune. The best U2 gig I saw was in Slane when they played the night Ireland beat Holland in the qualifier.. the crowd roaring at Nelly Furtado to get off the stage so they could put the football on, then Trigger goes and smashes the winner home and the place goes mental in the sunshine. Next up Ash and Moby who were both class, and after the sun went down U2 smashed it out of the natural bowl there. That would have been around the time of Elevation which is a quality album

Fairly sure one of the other three is a batshit crazy religious fundamentalist. My brother had a pal who was supposed to be part of their Corkonian road-crew but made the mistake of chatting to yerman (think it was the drummer) at an after-gig bash in Cork prior to going on some big tour back in the day and was subsequently blacklisted. Missus loves U2 but I remember then down the Arc - can take or leave them tbh. One or two decent songs but Nobo would give anyone the ick
