The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Mizzoni is nice but it's pretty dear. Nearly 5 quid for delivery! Really tasty pizza though
Mizzoni are the business for a proper feed. Late at night, been busy all day, load of hungry mouths to feed? They'll have you sorted. Did it a lot when we'd been burning the midnight oil. They have pasta, too, last I saw. Always worth picking some of that up. #sorted

Huge selection, too, to suit everyone. Order three or four pizzas, couple of pastas, few sides and a bottle of fizzy pop and you'll be having a party.

To be honest I live alone so was only ever getting one pizza but that sounds good. I did see the pasta advertised alright.

The set up used to be that you could get a la tana pizza dropped across to the beer garden.

Tom stuck in his own oven and cut the lads off from that revenue stream

I don't know if.the pizzas in Tom Barry's are any good
The Pizza's in Tom Barry's are excellent, I was in there over the summer tried a few different types, all good across the board

Yeah now remember thats what it was about.

Don't suppose you remember the original La Tana owner? He was a handy photographer and the Triskel (I think) had an exhibition of his work just after he passed.

Haven't had a pizza from Tom Barrys in a few years, they were decent enough from what I recall.
I have forgotten his first name but the surname is Tavolieri. He had at least one pizza takeaway, in the Grand Parade, until he got ill. I think he might have helped his sons Elio and Antonio set up La Tana, or they set it up after he passed. Elio eventually moved on himself to set up Palmento with Antonio remaining with La Tana. I know Elio a long time, back when he was an excellent carpenter. Their uncle set up Lucianos in MacCurtain Street before moving down to Glanmire village.

Open to correction but I thought he ran La Tana himself for a couple of years before they took it on?

Easily the best pizza spot I have encountered in Cork. Place was brilliant. Went to the follow up place on Grand Parade after the brothers split (I think) but it was never the same. 😞

Going up to Dublin for a match I'd always go in there for a Montaga and a pint of milk 🙂

The same pizzas are in Lucianos in Glanmire village.
