One of Ireland's top chefs leaves Cork restaurant after only eight months
It comes just days after he was crowned joint Best Seafood Chef of the Year at the prestigious Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards 2025www.irishexaminer.com
Looks like a falling out over the new menu.
ooof ....Kevin Aherne, the former chef-proprietor of Sage Midleton, who sold his business to the Flynn Cush Group and which they re-launched as Cush Midleton, said on Wednesday: “Dan is a very accomplished chef, very good at what he does and any restaurant who gets him will be very lucky to have him.”

Tried Mantra on Princes st last night, I have to say it was outstanding.
I went for the Tandoori lamb shank that came with rice and a selection of sauces, really really tasty.
Also shared some Bajis, Samosas and nan breads.
For 4 of us the bill was 205 including 2-3 beers each and some sparking water which I felt was decent value for the quality served up.
Really nice staff too, a very welcome addition to the city and il definitely be going back soon
I was with Tom, we enjoyed a lovely meal togetherI'm going to the South County tomorrow and I'm going to show that post to Tom.
You absolute turncoat.
