Went to Paladar last weekend.
It was great. Had a reservation so got a handy booth but there seemed to be a pile of walk ins. All very trendy. Having an in house DJ legitimately improves.the atmosphere in there compared to an auld Spotify playlist.
There were two of us, we went for 2 small plates, 2 sharing plates and 2 sides. we were fawking starving
Small splates were Guacamole and a Cured Fish Tostada.
The Guac was excellent, home made tortillas, sour creme and pico de gallo, magic
Tostada was a cured fish carpaccio thing. Also nice
Sharing plates.Pork Tacos, 3.small ones excellent
A fried Chicken and a rice thing. Sold.as a Peruvian, Japanese fusion thing..It was grand but the weakest thing we ordered.
Sides were spicy cabbage which was a banging little dish.
And patatas bravas called something else.
we glugged 4 glasses of a beautiful Uruguayan Albarino
Out the Gap for €127 ex tip.
Overall it was excellent. Really top notch evening atmosphere, service, food and drink all great.
We ordered too much I would drop the chicken and possibly the tostada next time and you'd be out the gap for about €100 which when taking everything into account is exceptional value.
it's a lovely spot
