The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Took herself to Goldie this evening, could only get a 5pm booking on account of how popular the place is.

Absolutely first class food & service as usual.

Best spot in the city imo

Went in recently for a birthday meal. Great service and food etc but I found the portions absolutely tiny. I know it's fine dining etc but I hate leaving a restaurant hungry.

Very impressive spot though and I'd say the day is coming when it'll just be impossible to get a booking. They should have a great summer

It had been about 4 years since i last tried it but went to Sophie’s at the weekend with the Mrs….

It was…………. fine…. Only fine though.

The setting is nice but everything else is just average….. the service, the food , the cocktails were all just ok.

Hard to justify the cost.

Went to Paladar a couple of weeks ago, was really looking forward to it as have tried to book it previously with no luck. The place is really nice inside and out but to be honest I was a little bit disappointed by the food, you'll definitely be full, no problem there but it was a bit bland compared to what I was expecting.........expectations were high after reading a few reviews.

I was in Ardmore last weekend.

We ate in the bar of the Cliff House on Sat evening. Really lovely food, and reasonably priced.
I had jambon croquettes for starter and Sole for main. MM had soup and fish of some sort too (Haddock iirc). Decent fare, would recommend.

We had lunch in the Garden kitchen cafe on the main street on Sunday. Delicious toasted sandwiches and great coffee. Their cakes and cookies looked great too.

Was there last week, it was indeed savage.

They lash out a cooking broth that they cook the meat in it'd clog your arteries but its unreal.

Very much a stand up joint though and not a place to centre your evening around
Grabbed a couple of Birra Beef tacos in there the other night going between pubs. Perfect for soaking up a few pints in preparation for a few more. Savage feed, but definitely not one you'd be advised to have regularly.

Took some rental properties in Ardmore for couple weeks in the summer a few times over the years when my son was young.

The Cliff Hotel is a really nice place but the menu didn't suit the likes of my parents at the time. Lovely for a drink though.

We ate in the Whitehorses restaurant on the main street. It was absolutely superb. Great service aswell but you need to book. It's a busy place.

The Whitehorses restaurant is a great spot, was there last year and the food was very nice! Never been to the Cliff Hotel, heard they aren't that child friendly but that might just be the restaurant and not the bar.
