The Official PROC Restaurant review thread.

Good point. Well made.

Her type would be exactly who you'd find queing outside a gelato joint at 8pm on a January evening.

While the rest of us sit at home struggling to pay our bills.

This argument is too stupid for words.

As Ive said, none have stayed going in Cork for any significant length of time. The only one I can think of is the place that was on Winthrop Street and that was as part of a pizza joint.

Big demand for ice cream alright on a dark evening in sub zero temperatures.

Jesus wept 🙄

It that Ginos? That was around for years but it was mainly pizza they sold

It is busy all year around as some religions do not drink and prefer coffee, ice cream, coffee etc. Stroll around the city say 5.00pm - 8.00pm and these places are always busy and family friendly.
Most hamburger joints, cafés and convenience stores sell Ice Cream.

Imagine opening a shop that ONLY sells Mars Bars.

Lots of dodgy biusinesses went wallop once the EWSS which was keeping them afloat dried up.

Those of a certain vintage, and from Cork may remember O'Brien's Ice Cream Parlours. McCurtain Street and Washington Street. They used to sell food as well as Ice Cream Sundaes.

The city is now overrun with these Ginos, Crepe Places, Bubble tea, Coffee Shops etc while loads of pubs have closed which must reflect a changing society as the pub is less important now compared to even 10 years ago.

All these places seem to be busy while some pubs are shuttered or not opening at all early in the week.

There will always be a place for pubs.

People need a controlled environment in which to enjoy a craft beer.
