I was just giving a possible reason for the discrepancy. It takes two hours on minimum wage in Portugal to buy a Burger King Whopper Meal in Portugal.

Here it takes one hour to buy the same thing.


They say that's a better way to compare. I don't know about Spain.

I was going to move there ages ago. I went around looking for work and they only paid chefs 6.20 an hour. Rent isn't that cheap there one guy said

Ah you might well get a great meal there - who knows, I’ve only eaten there the once and it might have been an off night or whatever.

Which is why Cork now has a large Spanish community working in the tech sector etc pocketing decent coin.

Walk through the city any early evening and you will hear more Spanish than Corkanese.

Lots of Spanish young people are very well educated and trained. Insufficient jobs in their chosen field in Spain is the reason for the relatively high immigration rate Stacky.
