Still seems like a good accounting trick to allow you to buy loads of talent to get around PSR.

They limited it to 5 years to close that loophole. Some transfers will always turn out to be poor choices. I'm sure Chelsea factored that into their calculations.

Absolutely. A rather massive loophole to leave open.

It's only sustainable if you have a good enough success rate on transfers & that broadly translates into success on the pitch.

If either dip badly they'll drag the other down, which creates a sizeable PSR vaccum for the later years.

It could prove a smart move in time, but it's not without its risks. No well-run club should really need to have exploited that loophole.
