Taras Tearooms is closing
Is that a little or a lot for a cafe in the market? We seem to have no lack of cafes around the place.Cafe Marius in the English Market is up for sale for €150k.
They rented a unit in the shopping centre for a while.. I think it was a way to try and get around that pesky weather. The Coffee Hut (formerly the Dough Hut) in Douglas Community Park is closing.
They always seem to have rotton luck with weather, often having to close early or not even open at all. I don't know how it was ever viable as a business model, there can't have been any money in it.
Happy memories of going there when I lived in the area

Regarding the question above about the English Market, I really don't know. I'd always just assumed that the council owns all the stalls and leases them out? I was surprised to see one coming up for sale, and I can't remember it happening before

Surprised it lasted this long tbh
Don't steal the business idea but I've plans to open a Pink Shorts and Boat Shoes Pop-Up next door come spring.I'd say even Bean and Leaf must be a bit worried to be operating in such close proximity to Douglas's top cafe, the South County, which serves hot drinks, breakfast, and scones - seven days a week
Will you be selling mankini's?Don't steal the business idea but I've plans to open a Pink Shorts and Boat Shoes Pop-Up next door come spring.
