The official opening and closing businesses thread

You're getting mixed up Soundy (no shock there!). Leisureplex didn't open until the late '80's. The Gaff was Leisureworld which was a Gaming Arcade with a few pool tables. It was located a few doors further down McCurtain St, think it's a casino now.
I have a picture in my mind of years ago you and your buddies out on the street playing football and ye spot
@Yermon coming up the road, Ye have a nickname for him and shout it so ye can get a chase from him.

Nah, I didn't even know Kev but I kinda knew his da who was very friendly with my pal's da and it grew from there long after we stopped playing street football - happy days.

Yeah Goldrush, yer man has some business going, shops in PUIC, vending machines and pool tables all over city and county.

Loving Salads on Academy Street has shut down. That one went completely under the radar.

Nice place, very reasonable prices for the salads but you had to get there early for a decent selection.

Not many dedicated salad places left now. Probably just the one in the English Market.

Sorry you're right, Sprout has opened up recently.

There was a fantastic place on Princes Street called Rocket Man, but it's gone. It was replaced by White Rabbit, which is now also gone.

I tend to just get self service salads downstairs in Dunnes. It costs around €3, when you could be paying €8 at the place in the English Market
