There are a string of hyped up players from the french ligue that didn't work out at Newcastle. Cabella and Thauvin spring to mind as they arrived on big money.
That's not to say it won't work out for Bruno if he signs, just that there is no guarantee. Sissoko and Cabaye both did very well and left for much more than they arrived.
Bernard Fa also did well at Newcastle, as a matter of fact plenty frenchies have fared well there Loic Remy, Laurent Robert, Debuchy, Boumsong, Gouffran, Cabaye, St Max to name a few
Boumsong was unreal when he played for Auxerre and then decided to go to Rangers. Seemed to get some of his mojo back when he left Newcastle for Juventus (Serie B)
