The Official Manchester City Thread - Part 2

It's very similar to Liverpool's decline when Fabinho and Henderson got old overnight. Same has happened here. Villa overloaded their midfield and City didn't have the legs to deal with it.

Villa could have scored 3 or 4 goals very easily. City's goal was a late mistake/slip.

Fergie and Wenger in their peak were good at moving guys on for big fees just before their decline was obvious. Obviously Pep doesn't have to worry about the finances at City...but they have definitely left it get stale.

Their recent signings leave a lot to be desired too in comparison to what went before them.

That video is a bit of a piss take, as the producer says himself. But he's dead right about Hey Zeus and Grealish. Not far off the mark about Henry either.

He looks a shadow of the player he was at Villa.

All the skill and artistry 'coached' out of him.

Haaland should be the best player in Europe. Just another NFL style cog under Pep.

I'm delighted that it's gone to shit. I know Madrid aren't exactly a plucky underdog but Ancelotti teams have always played lovely football. His mid 00s Milan side were great.

Guardiola just tappy tappy sends you to sleep. Plus they're filthy, persistent tactical fouling all game long. And yes United should have had a second penalty against them.
