The Official Man Utd Thread - Part 3.

United knew Cavani, Mata, Pogba, Lingard were leaving a year ago.

Greenwood hasn't featured in their plans indefinitely since Jan , Matic said he wouldn't be renewing 3 months ago.

They knew all this and havn't had any kind of plan in place to recruit replacements.

The current squad minus CR7 is midtable at best.

This is what happens when a clubs first priority is to siphon money off to banks and Florida, and not football.

Its certainly a bit of a mess, if ETH hadnt known was in store for him already, he certainly does now. The indecisiveness continues at the helm, with this farcical Ronaldo situation not helping to say the least. That needs to be dealt with quickly, but his wage demands wont make it easy. I would prefer to see him out before the end of the week tbh, no chance of moving forward with that shit going on.

The two imminent signings are a start at least, although its really hard to evaluate the Eriksen one in particular. Himself and Fernandes possibly dont work in the same side, outside of Fernandes playing as a false 9, which given their lack of options up top, might not be a bad shout.

If they cant beat Bumnal to Martinez you would have to worry and it seems more likely than not that De Jong signs. Apart from possibly Antony, not much else looks likely, with a top 4 finish looking increasingly unlikely.

Could be a breakthrough year for one or two of the following - Mejbri, Iqbal, Laird, Garnacho, Fernandez (if he stays), Garner, Mengi, McNeill (absolutely prolific at underage level). He will have no choice but to call on these players and I`d be surprised if a couple of these werent squad regulars by the second half of the season.

Ronaldo only cares about his legacy, nothing else. Signing him was one of many mistakes United have made over the past decade. The team is considerably poorer with him in it because he demands so much of the team be tailored to suit his statistical needs. Hag has his work cut out for him but he seems like a smart, tough guy so we will see. I’m glad for Erickson. He is a terrific player and seems like a nice fellow.
