Bit of a deluded comment by Scholes. Not every manager wants to go manage this group of United players. Rio said it’s a clean slate. It’s far from that. There is a lot of players to get rid of before you can start creating a better culture at the club.

United were never going to win the CL this year and that’s not a dig, it’s just not where they’re at currently. If they didn’t go out tonight then it would have been next round most likely. Atletico are a horrible shower who murder the game.

United have two focuses now as a club - getting the right manager for next season and hoping they give him CL football to start with. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if he didn’t have it though. They’d still attract quality in the market with money and club stature.
