The Official Man Utd Thread - Part 3.

Silly & lazy from Lacroix to put himself at risk like that and arguably cost his side the game.

In principal though, it feels like overkill to give a red card AND a pen in situations which don't involve violence or dangerous play.

In must cases the quality of the chance which was denied falls well below the xG of a penalty.

A yellow and a pen feels sufficient.

if it's outside the box then a free-kick & red feels more appropriate.

But those are the rules, for now at least.

Not liking what I'm seeing now tbh.

When Carrick came in players were putting everything in but there's definitely been a drop off in effort by some.

The bounce is dissipating and a bad result will lead to the same problems as before.

Hope to God I'm wrong here.

I think they've been very lucky to win a lot of the games they have under Carrick. City and Arsenal games aside, I haven't seen much improvement and I think they'd have been good in those no matter who was in charge, it's just the way they're geared.

Still it's a results business and can't argue there. Newcastle midweek will be a big test.

United were dogshit until the red card.

There needs to be a significant improvement in the performance level on Wednesday or they could get a right tanking.

Jarrod Bowen being linked to United as a replacement for Bruno Fernandes.

Now I've mentioned him before but wouldn't pay 50 + million for a 29 year old.

Definitely a concerning first half display on Sunday.

There were no caveats going into the game, at home, perfect pitch, Palace on a poor run of form etc.

Laid an absolute egg.

Better in the second half but the sending off and pen changed the game.

Still winning though which is most important but performances have to improve.
