He might. I wouldn't blame any coach if they did now. People talk. Amorim wasn't perfect but the interference and refusal to buy players he wanted for his system won't be long doing the rounds in the football coaching world I'd imagine. I know most of it already FFS.

I know there’s a huge difference between United and Ipswich but if Town had lost McKenna last summer, most supporters wanted Carrick in. They’re both very close friends too.

I think the way things went with Amorim is definitely a turning point in attracting top talented managers.

All these guys talk and they can do their due diligence very easily.

The other side of it is if it works out great if not I’m 10-15m euro richer.

Alonso won’t be short on offers and I doubt United will be high on his priority list
