The official Lufc Thread

McDermott a victim of this new takeover attempt. Was getting forced to allow (who now looks like his replacement) Gianluca Festa access to training.

Was also supposed to have been told today he was getting three Italian players that he had to play.

Leeds fans seem very upset about his leaving.

Even for a club noted for shooting itself in the foot, this is an embarrassing decision on so many levels.

Shameful the way a decent guy like McDermott has been treated over the last week. But in the long run he is better off out of it and let the Elland Road circus claim its next victim.

And still nine minutes for McCormack to be sold.

It's kicking off at Elland Road.

Fans have congregated outside and won't let the owner leave.

How long before he's forced to drink his own piss?

It appears the Italian guy and his lawyer may have been a bit hasty in sacking McDermott. The board was never consulted on this decision and the takeover bid had not been concluded at that point. So they may have been no legal basis to change the manager?

In other news, the Chief Executive who was sacked last night has been re-instated, while the Managing Director who quit in protest is back on board as well.

And now, according to local journos, the 'club', whoever the club is, apparently want McDermott back too. Now whether the Italian guy actually wants Brian back, or just want to bring him back so he can sack him again, only legally this time, is the question.

There is a game in less than 90 minutes. McDermott is still technically the manager and was due to attend the game, but may not now due to legal advice.

Meanwhile the scriptwriters at Emmerdale are looking on enviously.

I have to say all of this saddens me. Geniunely have a soft spot for Leeds Utd. A big club with a loyal following who deserve to be at in the top flight of english football. We had some great battles with them during the late 60s and 70s. Brian McDermott is one of the few real gentlemen left in the game and to see his shabby treatment by some faceless crowd is disgusting and leaves a sour taste.

Look to see him succeed at leeds if given a chance, but will he.
