The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Only cost about £700,000,:lol!::lol!::lol!: too.
Thanks for outdoing us once again! :lol!:

Yesterday was yet another reminder that we are a long way off it and have loads to do but there’s very little excuse for not scoring at home to Fulham who are also in some transition of their own. We have spent a fortune on attackers so to not score is just not acceptable.

We are going to suffer this season again I fear but I am hoping we see signs of future hope in the process. It’s early days yet for Iraola. I’m just not convinced of our midfield setup and how we move the ball from back to front either. City have a whole new midfield and they look way better balanced than ours after just a few games together and a new manager. The club need to make calls on that area next summer.

Missed the game saturday. Was on a flight.
Saw result so didn’t bother re-watching.

Seemed to have been another tedious slog against a shite fulham team.

Bournemouth away next Sunday. Another OK fixture on paper but there’s very few teams in the league that won’t fancy themselves against this liverpool team.

Brutal stuff. Jacquet and VVD decent. Araujo solid enough but rest of the team looked like few lads thrown together for quick game of five a side. Alisson did his best to gift Fulham early goal. Midfield abysmal with Szoboszloi, Wirtz and Gravenberch unable to complete any pass more than 5 yards away.
Extended intl break after next weekend before back in three weeks for handy one v Man City!!

Jacquet looks a hell of a player in the making.

Reminds me a little of early Leeds era Rio Ferdinand - whereby he'll look really silky for 90mins but there'll be maybe one or two moments in there where a bad decision or overly risky pass might catch him out. It hasn't cost him or Liverpool yet, but that time will come & he'll have to learn from it.

He's not quite as good as Rio on the ball, but looks to be a bit more up for the basics (blocks, tackles, aerial duels) than Rio was at that stage and he covers the ground really well.

I didn't think he'd be quite as good as this right from the start of his LFC career tbh. Iraola is managing him well too, with a sensible level of rotation with Araujo.
