Nor do I want 2 flying fullbacks (who are poor defensively), all I'm saying is that is in effect what we ended up with were 3 CBs as Kerkez was so poor. We need to fix LB too. Araujo while not perfect, was a very positive change by Iraola.

I think it’s a compromise he settled on due to Frimpong being so bad more than the actual shape of the team being so bad but I’m glad he can see what we are all seeing in any case. I also think the attack has enough potential to just need more workmanlike players behind them to get the team more balanced. I don’t think we need 5 players behind the talented front 3 all bombing forward.

I think Araujo may have a wild streak in him over time but he is an upgrade on Frimpong for sure. We will need Gomez and Leoni fit though to cover the centre backs.

Frimpong might be a bit more useful in the CL where teams are less about aerial bombardment compared to the PL.

Araujo almost certainly has a clanger in him. I just hope they say as those sliced clearances that went out for a corner and not some of the Konate varieties
