Pool have some serious potential in the CB position. Ndukwe, Leoni and Jacquet all have the raw abilities to be top class CBs. Development is never linear though. Need a fair slice of luck too.
All three look really impressive and absolute beasts physically.
It's a good approach because, as you say, development is not linear & injuries at key times can de-rail a career. Assuming no major injury issues it's fair to assume that at least 2 of the 3 will go on to be good (or better) PL top 6-level centre-backs. Maybe even all three.
The challenge is giving them sufficient minutes in a formation that'll allow them to develop without being overly exposed. I'd imagine playing alongside VVD was a big draw for all three.
