Given the unique role he's had at the club over the course of decades that will be a seriously weighty event.

This one got me thinking re Kenny’s place in LFC pantheon. For me he’s second only to Shanks. Paisley making up the third leg of the holy trinity.

Kenny is top for me.

The club's best ever player, very successful manager, took a huge amount on personally around Hillsborough and transitioned well into the club legend/ambassador role.

Shankley was a force of nature and clearly a big catalyst around making Liverpool the force they went on to be, but its hard to look past Kenny's rounded contribution...plus he did it in our lifetime, so it's more tangible for modern fans.

The game has moved on so much in terms of the finances involved that we will see the likes of Kenny, with a "club first" mentality, less and less.
