The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Anyone defending Gravenberch is deluded. The kid is utter, utter shit.
All I know is that it’s a wholly dysfunctional side which isn’t bringing out the best in anyone at all. It’s bringing out the worst is most.

Obviously there are many issues but plenty things can be coached better like attacking play and even ambition to attack. But the team is really short in speed and athleticism. It just cannot press effectively at all. The front 3 are all terrible at it. Ekitike is a very talented player but he is not aggressive in the press. Salah and Gakpo don’t have the legs nor aggression for it. This is exposing the likes of Gravenberch and more so, MacAllister who is very short on legs. And in turn it’s exposing the defence. It’s a major issue.

We need to buy legs next summer, not technical ability. A bit of character and leadership would help too. Plenty of other things can be coached better and we have plenty of the ball currently to be so much better and inventive in attack. Slot has no excuse for drawing at home to this Spurs side. There’s actually no excuse for a lot of the results against lowly opposition, a lot of which were at home. He needs to go. Results aside; the football is shocking and lack of legs around the pitch isn’t necessary to win a lot of those games that we have dropped points in.

A completely nothing argument/dig really because becoming champions is a superb feat for any team. Winning the title and coming second by a point the next season isn’t any more rewarding than getting CL football despite being 30 points adrift.
Thats some load of bollocks. Coming second by a point the following season kind of proves ye weren't one season wonders.

It says something about the group of players and the management. Liverpool didnt finish outside the top 2 for the whole of the 80s.

Fergie went 20 years without dropping below 3rd.

That means nothing?

Just stop.
If you told me now he would be sacked if we got knocked out midweek then I’d take it. Partly because I dread to think what PSG would do to us if we got through.
Hoping for your team to lose because you dont like the manager

But what difference does it make? It’s nice to have your team competing for the big trophies. It’s always nicer to see your team win far more often than not but the history books won’t have a section for teams that didn’t do so well the year after winning a title unless they got relegated maybe.

You often pointed out some of Klopp’s close second place finishes counted for nothing. That the 90+ point second places mean nothing. Yet now they do because it suits your agenda? Give over m8.

If Liverpool somehow scrape CL qualification and get back into the thick of a title fight next season, nobody will be having a chat about how this was one of the worst title defences ever. It’s a nothing debate.

If Slot was second by a point now, would you want him gone?

I rest my case.

Coming first and second two years in a row is a decent achievement.

It's not a great achievement like winning the title two years in a row. Or even 3.....

Worst. Champions. Ever.

My word, KD just turned Shabby in to a Shambles here.

Between Emerson Royale (where’s he hiding) and Shambles this has been an absolute catastrophe for the SSBs.

Philby needs to call an 11am meeting tomorrow to regroup urgently.

This piece is bold means nothing at all to anyone and will mean nothing come May if Liverpool scrape top 5. It’s just a nothing nothing debate like so many other ones in football. I’d still prefer to be having the season we are having now than have many close seconds and never win a title. I don’t think anyone cares if they were the worst champions ever when it’s put like that. How long more will we have to wait for United to be champions again so they can compete for the worst champions ever trophy again? :lol!:

The fact we want Slot gone is down to two things. The football is absolutely terrible and secondly, so are the results. And the team is vastly underperforming relative to expectations and financial input, even if net spend and injuries are accounted for. No fans of any top club should accept some of the stuff we’ve had to endure this season under Slot.
