The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

Kelliher wanted game time. He was never staying to be No 2 for another season.

Diaz going and Gakpo staying is a shocker. That left side of the attack is dead. Kerkez has settled down a bit but we won't see any attacking returns from until Gakpo is removed.
Maybe Diaz wanted to leave. Certainly if he wanted the same salary that Gakpo is now on, then it was an awful decision

I think theres a strong argument to be made that they should have made Kelleher their #1.

Wtf was Allison trying to do for that spotter?

Kelleher and Diaz* the two really bad pieces of business from last summer.

*he scored a hat trick at the weekend.
M8, are you forgetting your station?

This is the fabled Anfield committee. They made Jurgone take Salah instead of some donkey he wanted, and they've never made a bad decision* except that time they were unlucky with Keita after RoundY ruined him.

They can hardly be blamed for that. So back in your box before you dare question them again.

*I forgot Nunez, but that's it
*Oh and Thiago

*And selling Diaz, but that's it, no wait,
* Konate

Anyway, besides the loads of mistakes they've made, they've hardly made any.

Just read a few comments on the VAR decision at the end, I am not sure what people have an issue with.

Pre the days of glorious VAR, it would simply have been pulled back for the initial foul on Haaland as it was clear no advantage would have been gained by letting play run. In the VAR era, passages of play have to run their course before they can be reviewed. Both outcomes should result in the same ending, red card for the denial of a goal scoring opportunity and a free kick. VAR is a shit show but cant complain about this one.

I loved Caoimhin but he may never get to the level that Alisson is now, not to mind Alisson at his peak.

The more the PL becomes about an endless Arsenal-inspired meat wall of set-pieces the more I'm glad that they got in a big unit like Mamardashvili to take over from the Brazilian when the time comes.

Caoimh had many strengths but physicality under a high ball isn't one of them.

From watching both sides this season Id say Kelleher is well ahead of the Brazilian. Plus hes not always injured.

Boy Georgia looked nothing special when he had to cover Allison's latest spell out.

Its just opinions but if I were looking for a new #1, Kelleher would be near the top of my list.

One of the worst decisions in the modern era.

He's a gem. Never stops working, running and harrassing. Nightmare to play against.

Should have moved heaven and earth to keep him.

Gary Neville was quite amusing in co commentary in Pool v City game.

Was like a fanzone

He was imploring City to score.

I enjoyed it but must be grating for Liverpool Supporters ???
