Bit of an exaggeration but it’s not a secret that Liverpool have generally sold players in order to fund any big transfers, especially under Klopp. They have brought in players for big money, if they saw him as a game changer and often that had worked out positively but not always, as with any club’s transfers.

I think everyone was shocked to see the club go so big on Wirtz though and really win a battle for potential star against Europe’s elite. That’s probably a first in a long, long time.

There is clearly big change coming around at the club. Big names coming in but big names also leaving. I would venture a guess to say the net spend will take a bit of a bashing compared to previous seasons but it still won’t be too bad in comparison with the likes of City by the time the window closes.
