No too bothered by TAA leaving to be honest. He was a vital cog in Klopps teams and a joy to watch. A truly gifted footballer but I just don’t think his style is that suited to Slots plans. There were quite a few games this season in which Trent didn’t feature and we looked worryingly short on creativity. He has defensive issues, which are well documented, but there’s an awful lot of games where his attacking skills come to the fore.

I agree on Bradley. I’m not sure he’s not the answer but he’s not a nailed on solution right now. He needs someone to compete with him and share the workload.

He also appears (like Konaté, Jota, Gomez) to be fairly susceptible to picking up injuries so for that reason alone, they'll need fairly solid second option at rb.

Confirmed now by Trent and the club that he is off at the end of the season, presumably to play for Madrid.

Everyone knew this would be the case so it’s not a shock to anyone but it’s still bitterly disappointing. It’s not a difficult decision to understand though. When Madrid come knocking, you usually don’t say no. It’s a big opportunity to play for the biggest club in world football and win trophies regularly and challenge himself somewhere new. He has won it all for Liverpool, he hasn’t anything else to prove for the club. Anyone who can’t understand it hasn’t a clue.

The job to replace him is monumental. He has defensive deficiencies but he makes the team tick. People think we will be better without but just watch us without him to know that’s not true. As a club that based its strategy/success around moneyball, it’ll be interesting to see how Trent’s attacking numbers are replaced.

By chance I happened to be in Anfield yesterday doing the stadium tour with the youngfella when it was confirmed on the TV screens there! I thought it was a funny bit of timing but the Liverpool fans there didn't seem to agree!

On another note, I had thought we had lucky bit of timing being there this weekend, figured the city would be in a celebratory mode with flags, bunting etc everywhere.. it turned out that you would have no idea Liverpool have won anything in the city or at Anfield. Maybe they are waiting to be presented with the cup and then it will start but Id have assumed the locals would be going bananas

TBF the celebrations were nuts on the Sunday when the title was secured (...and by the sounds of it lots of local fans kept the party going for a few days after that).

It's natural enough that there's going to be a lull for the month or so leading up to the final game and the victory parade.
