The Official Liverpool Thread - Part 2

In news that will surprise noone, Jota's one match absence has now been extended to a few weeks, probably missing all games up to and including rearranged Everton game in mid February.

Chiesa looks like he has something about him albeit based only on his very brief cameos to date.
he was absolutely fantastic for Italy a few years back, if he ever gets back to that form then lfc will have a hell of a player

he looks like he's carrying a few pounds too many at the mo' though.... though he may well say the same of me, de git

There's truth in that.
With his normal haircut, lack of visible tattoos and apparently less than honed physique, he looks more like a lad you might see on a private school's 5-a-side team than a premier league player.

He needs to be replaced in the summer. Made of Weetabix.

Players that are always injured are fucking useless to you.

Trust me, the likes of Hargreaves and Shaw come to mind from a Utd point of view

100%. Sturridge and Keita two others that could not be relied on. Just as they were playing themselves into some kind of form from last absence, they'd pick up another knock!
Pity re Jota - intelligent player who is very useful playing against "park the bus" opponents but unavailable too often.

It’s a fair comment. You can’t build a team around anyone injury prone or rely on them at all. Jota is a great man for a big goal when the chips are done. Some of his link up play can be brutal but then he’d bag a goal or two out of nowhere when it’s needed most and all is forgiven.

This coming summer and next few months in general are really big for the club. There are numerous key players with contracts running out and not looking like signing anytime soon and several players who are likely to be shipped on as they’re not meeting the criteria for one thing or another under Slot.

My advice is to enjoy the title run in because next season could be a very, very different picture.
