Faint praise, indeed. From the other SSB in D'Athletic
Did Gravenberch shine in a reshuffled midfield?
Ryan Gravenberch’s early form has him among the players of the season so far, and this was another reminder of how profound his impact has been. The range of his distribution from the No 6 role and the disguise on many of those passes helped to keep Palace off-balance.
Gravenberch’s emergence at Ajax came as a more aggressive player — a carrier, really — and while he’s much more static in this position, many of those abilities are still present in his game. Saturday was a good example. Gravenberch is a press-resistant player, meaning that whenever he touched the ball, Palace were never quite sure whether to pressure him or to sit off and take away his passing angles.
Ultimately, they did neither and he had a field day, cutting his passes through the lines and into space, allowing Liverpool to flow forward in numbers and create numerical superiorities in attacking positions. It was interesting how much chemistry Liverpool’s midfield played with given how Slot shuffled his personnel for this game.
Part of that might have just been how consistent the supply from Gravenberch was.
Overall, it was an elegant performance. Gravenberch pirouettes away from opponents and steps away from their challenges as well as anyone in that role in the league at the moment, and this was another afternoon when his movement off the ball and use of possession were imperiously good.
My youngfella was saying 7 matches. Great news for Kelleherslot says the Brazilian will be out for a while and is likely to miss upcoming fixtures against RB Leipzig and Arsenal.
What’s the opposite to a handy run?Yerrah Christ schtop, ye'll be lucky to stay up, so ye will.
Tricky run upcoming but anything would be tricky compared to the soft start we had.Next three are Chelsea at home and Arsenal away with RB away in between, Sun, Weds., Sun.
McAllister injured as well apparently so guessing he doesnt go with Argentina-not sure does he have to go and be looked at by their doctors? Seems a bit crazy when it involves two long haul flights. Nunez got a 5 match ban so still out this window.

A few injuries and the squad already looks threadbare. Still can’t believe we offloaded so many midfielders. Gravenberch looks absolutely fantastic so far this season though. He’s probably been MOTM in every game.
