Jailed in Nov ‘24 for 3 years?

He must have been just out on May 15.

Same day as the Congo lad was shoplifting in Arnotts.

No, he was freed in December of last year but this information was only released to the public in March of this year! He only served 13 months of his 3 year sentence.

Interesting that the character reference was directly from the IRFU, and not a particular coach or someone in Leinster Rugby. I’d say some protocols were agreed for that following more serious trials..

Anyway, reading the incident it doesn’t seem like something a potential sporting career should be cancelled over.

We've all complained about the GAA privilege and it's the same here now.
Regardless of it not being massively serious, he escalated a situation, with a woman.
If that were any of us, we wouldn't have a job to return to.

Has ROC ratified the decision?

With all respect, this isn’t within an arses roar of what Kyle Hayes did. He threw a plastic cup after being downed with a drink.

And for a number or reasons, it really shouldn’t be conflated with cases where much more serious incidents were alleged but not convinced in Court.

Not Hayes but the GAA have had a few lads and ladies up for incidents and there's always been annoyance when they get a slap on the wrist.

With this case its a massive red flag and further shows the entitlement that becomes embedded in these guys.
