The Prendergast - Crowley shite will be a handy curtain for the coaches to hide behind and deflect away from.
Absolutely nothing learned from that series of games.

The team looks like a bunch of players comfortable in knowing the jersey is theirs.
Frawley thrown under the bus entirely.

Ticking timebomb

I look forward to reading the Irish media big up the Aussies as if they're the same team that had Giteau, Larkham, Mortlock etc.

They're a poor team that came very close to nearly beating the team that considers themselves the best team in the world.

Yeah the Tans and the French won't exactly be shitting bricks coming to town if that's the standard of performance we can muster.

They are inconsistent. Any team to get pumped in Argentina and then beat England in Twickenham a few weeks later is not the finished article. Schmidt is getting them performing better but it's a slow process. They will be better next summer that's for sure.
Not too many top rank teams around to be fair at present. South Africa are the standard, NZ getting there, France are up there but not consistently. Others in the top 10 are all "on the day" merchants.

I think that's more damning on Borthwick and England. His easy progression through a lop sided WC draw and beating Ireland has really papered over the cracks. They're regularly hammered by Scotland, lost to Fiji and lost to Australia at home.

We'll see. I'm still of the opinion that Crowley is the 10 but playing Prendergast was the edging out of Frawley and the Byrnes.

Playing wise, this was the poorest from Ireland in a few years but they have 9 weeks to the 6N.
