Bernard Laporte given two-year suspended sentence

A French court has sentenced French Rugby Federation (FFR) president Bernard Laporte to a two-year suspended term for corruption, less than a year before France hosts the World Cup.

I really liked the old 6 pool format, understand why they moved away from it for covid but it's time to bring it, or something like it, back.

Reading the match report from the Connacht match, while it looks like a good bonus point win away in France, that has to be tempered by the fact Brieve had a man sent off after 20 mins and Connacht were playing against 13 men for quarter of the match.
Despite that, they leaked 3 tries at the end, holding on to only win by 7.
Great they will almost certainly qualify for the next round but that's ominously poor defence

It'd be good for Ireland's world cup chances if he missed the whole championship.

In fact, it'd be ideal if he missed the six nations, then came back for Leinster's end of season champions cup matches. They're plenty enough to keep him competitive. With the warm up matches, he doesn't need much more rugby before the world cup
