I don't want to get into any argument just want to enjoy what is an epic match in Dublin, first time as champions in the capital the last were in Cardiff, London and Belfast so its a big special night.

My overall point it is a bit unfair to the team to say that they are not real competitors for the world cup. The performances show they are well capable of it.

🤔
Great to clinch The Slam in fairness.
While capable, I honestly don't think that we'll win the WC though. We've got a tricky group (England are haunted) and then either NZ or France in the QF if we make it. Both these sides have a score to settle with Ireland after recent defeats don't forget.
To finally reach the SF would be an achievement in itself.

Six Nations 2023: 'Unacceptable to spoil good games with poor red cards'

Ireland's Grand Slam-winning game against England was amazing and it is unacceptable to spoil a Test like that with a red card like the one Freddie Steward was given.

Just before half-time, with Ireland leading 10-6, England's Steward collided with Ireland's Hugo Keenan and referee Jaco Peyper decided the contact was bad enough to merit a red card. It was a disgraceful decision.

Hope he dries 'em good.

If the side has progressed as much as we're being told then a quarter final exit isn't good enough.

Just more of the same.

I like Farrell, I think he's done a hell of a job but Im not subscribing to the collective jubilation. We've been down that road too many times.

Glad to hear them say this is just the beginning.
To be honest I'd be more concerned with who we lost to rather than at what stage. Some but not all of our quarter final exits have been completely unacceptable.

I'm not sure losing a qf to France in Paris would be seen as a complete failure as this French team are practically unbeatable there, whereas if we beat France or New Zealand in the quarter and then lost to England or Australia in the final then there would be no words.

managed to watch the game again this morning as I couldn't concentrate on it properly in the Pub yesterday

England as expected fronted up and their defence in the first half especially was fantastic.

And to be fair to them they fought hard until the Henshaw try arudn the 60 min mark. After that there was only ever going to be one winner

Ireland had plenty possesion but handling errors from the likes of Furlong, Baird, Doris, POM in particular killed our momentum

Sexton probably didn't have his greatest game either but still kicked well

Sheehan had a huge game. Baird did well in the second half. Aki had a fine game and I would have been one of his harshest critics over the years.

Though Conan did well off the bench too

All in all a great campaign and the they won every game reasonably comfortably.

Think someone said they used 31 players in the tournament.

Onwards and upwards now to the World Cup
