Cracking race, Hardy Eustace winning a second Champion Hurdle in a row and Brave Inca third who would go on to win the following year's race before finishing 2nd to Sublimity in 2007. Social media would have exploded had it been around. 3 weeks from next Tuesday. Roll on!!!

The bould Harchibald was on the bridle with about 75 yards to go!! Bit of a nutter of a horse. Great talent.

Harchibald was very quirky, a total rogue, needed holding up till late but often didn't go through with his effort. Here he is at his best.

Declerations for the handicaps for the Cheltenham festival out today and the Ante-Post fave for both the Kim Muir and National Hunt Chase, The WallPark does NOT have an entry!! Who'd be an ante-post punter!!

Got my first tip for the festival from the missus' job last Sunday : Cons Roc in the Foxhunters on the Friday 7/1 NRNB

You'd have to be going NRNB or else just punt an amount you're comfortable to say goodbye to.

Constitution Hill gets in on Friday night . It'll boost the viewing figures if nothing else. Some interesting comments around Nicky maybe over-schooling him and as a result he has no respect for the obstacles. Story goes that when Lossiemouth fell at the DRF last year that she didn't see a hurdle again until she lined up at Cheltenham.

CH wins easily under Oisin Murphy. Showed his class but not sure what it proves other than that the horse is fit and well. It is a good idea for a pre-Cheltenham race with all the rain. But every thing about the race and track is so different to a champion hurdle which looks like it may be run on heavy ground this year(only two and a half weeks away) and plenty of rain to come.
