Winning 3-in-a-row, plus as Faldo says, a double grand-slam of majors must be next on the list for Rory. The mental resilience he gained from last year's win, nerveless clutch putting (by and large), plus a priceless ability to find more fairways in the final round, (46% first 2 days, 64% second 2) were the blocks success was built on.
Yet he shot 12 under the first 2 days compared to the last 2 despite more fairways hit, mainly due to his short game.

He did, but it couldn't last. He shot +1 on Saturday when everyone else around him were all under par. Mistakes or dropped shots by him are the exception rather than the rule when he hits the fairway.

It looked to me that all of the challengers (Scottie charged but was too far back) buckled when the pressure came on.

Rory now seems to have the response when the squeeze comes on.

His put on 16 was a Tiger moment.

His chip on 17 was rock solid.

He followed up a brutal tee shot on 18 with a brilliant high 7 iron draw and a perfect bunker shot from an iffy lie.

He seems to thrive under pressure when others crack

Nothing at all to do with the very unusual heavy watering of the course at lunchtime on Friday, which even Scottie mentioned after the round yesterday and how the course he played on Friday morning was entirely different to what Rory got in the afternoon when he shot 31 on the back nine. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sunday out of contention Rory was always unstoppable.

I think he used to get in his own head during the fallow years (in terms of Majors) he's won it all now. The Yanks calling him a choker at Farmingdale were a year out of date. The monkey is off his back now. He can play with the freedom he shows every other Sunday of the year

Crazy to think CBS doesn't pay anything for the broadcast rights for the Masters, instead Augusta National Golf club get major control on their broadcast - how many ads, which sponsors are allowed on screen,
Phrases used are decided by them:
• use 'patrons' not 'fans' or 'supporters'
• use 'bunkers' not 'sandtraps'
• use '2nd cut' not 'rough'
• use '2nd nine' not 'back nine'
Etc.

Probably worth $130m a year.
Am I right in thinking used to be on RTE or BBC up to a few years ago? I couldn't find it to watch anywhere. Finally got a stream on YouTube via one of the US channels but there was a countdown clock in the corner to an "important announcement from Trump". Cut in when Rory was prepping his bunker shot on the 18th. Id swear that clown timed it himself.

Quite a good bit back for RTE, probably 20 years. Had all the majors until Sky came along. I remember watching Faldo in 96 and Langer's victory on Rte.
Bbc had live coverage until 2020, then highlights, now nothing.
