It's seems anyone leading with two/three holes to play ends up losing these days. Pressure is huge at these events.
You are overthinking. Jfc.C’mere, is sticky toffee pudding a nod to the Officials, and a snub to the provos?
Or am I overthinking this?
Id imagine Alex would be getting more sponsorship/funding behind him (from the brother or associated with him) It takes massive pressure off guys trying to make it.Alex Fitzpatrick won this week, and his brother the week before. Alex was a year or two ahead of Mark Power in Wake Forest, they were regularly the top two names on the team sheet, but Alex is making it, poor Mark is struggling, and I can't see him continuing for much longer.
Definitely.Id imagine Alex would be getting more sponsorship/funding behind him (from the brother or associated with him) It takes massive pressure off guys trying to make it.
We're never going to have a pipeline of multiple players a year, but we've basically not seen a tour player break through since Tom McKibbin, and we know where he went. Going back to the Mark Power thing, he was an outstanding schoolboy golfer, was the first freshman to win the singles at East Lake, and has been fading consistently since then. I would say at this stage that he's not likely to make it as a tour player. Ireland doesn't have the sponsorship levels to give someone like him the support he needs. A few weeks ago, he had to scramble to Kenya at the last minute when a slot opened up for him. He made a good start, but fell well back after that, and who is surprised? With dp tour being more diluted than ever It's worrying we are not seeing any immerging Irish golfers on the scene for a while now. Not sure if its talent, lack of investment or maybe guidance.
