yes one stroke penalty,
I actually like this style of tournament. In recent years the big hitters have a huge advantage with the way courses are set up, bomb it up 300 yards, chip onto green from whereever as staying on the fairway is not a priority. birdie putt almost every time irrespective of drive accuracy.
Missing the cut yesterday Lowry 17 over, Straka 11, Fleetwood, Cantlay & Cam Smith all 8, JT 12, Rose 14, Bryson 10, Gary Woodland & Wyndham Clark both recent winners of US Open, Dustin 10 he won at Oakmont in 2016.

Despite some big names massively underperforming the course is rewarding the higher skilled players to an above average degree - with performance OTT being a higher than average differentiator this week.
