Lee claimed that lawyers should have to work for less than a reasonable rare rather than inconvenience the client by making them pay more. Which is a ridiculous position, even more so as the client isn't paying at all.

I bet hd wouldn't suggest that teachers should have to work for free though...

I think Lee, and everyone else, accepts that legal fees have to be paid to get a lawyer to represent you. The question is what is a reasonable rate. The Minister is trying to clamp down on legal practitioners who've been ripping the @rse out of it for far too long now. And I think you know that.

She was a model prisoner for the last 4 weeks and learnt Irish.
When asked about it MM said it is a matter for the prison service.

They are lots of instances for early release.
Tomas Og McCurtain only spend 6 years 5 months for killing of a guard.
Dev said he is being relaesed as Tomas father did a lot for Ireland.

This one got released because she's a wealthy woman

4 weeks into a two year sentence, some going. She had already got the last 12 months suspended, but clearly that wasn't enough.

It seems she has been assessed as "posing no threat to the community" despite having been found guilty of causing serious injury in an unprovoked attack (how does that align with "no threat to the community?)

She has not even served anything like 10% of her sentence yet she's been released on a scheme for those who "have served at least 50% of their sentence"

And people wonder why Joe Public doesn't have unwavering faith in our Justice System. The law very evidently is an ass, or certainly looks it in the way it's being applied to some

I was referring to a specific case and I didn't say that the lawyer should have done it free. Read my post again if necessary.

It isn't. It's inconvenient because we both know you wouldn't expect that of a teacher, but it's entirely relevant.
