Bain was good for us in a pinch and certainly way better for us than Barkhas proved to be, but wasn't good enough to be No. 1 and questionable if he was good enough back up. Siegrist had built up a decent reputation at DU. Bain is supposed to be great around the dressing room mind. Young Tobi may just get loaned out.
And speaking of loanees there's a rumour that Soro (remember him) may be going out on loan to Partizan Belgrade. Good engine, a bit feisty, can spot a pass too, but just that bit too much of a titch for a battling DM in the Scottish game imho. Calmac's game aint the same so he doesn't need to have the physical presence.
Been told that we're going to be signing 3 players tomorrow. Presumably one of them is Jota and another may be, though others are saying it's a 2+2 = 17 type story, the right back from Motherwell as we're selling Juranovic.
Disappointing that Celtic haven't gotten the widely rumoured Jota signing over the line yet.
There's even been a suggestion now that the selling of Juranovic (a rumoured 15M to Athletico) is needed to finance it, which seems utterly bizarre given the guaranteed tens of millions from the CL. Though I think the final size of that pot can be affected by whether or not the huns qualify.

There's a silly rumour circulating that Jota is looking for 60K per week. It's likely to be much closer to 16K per week. Still a huge increase from the rumoured 3K per week he's on at Benfica.

Seeing more and more rumours that Jota is just undergoing, some saying he's already completed, medicals and that we've agreed a fee of 6.5M on a 4 year deal but with a 30% sell-on percentage with Benfica. He's said to be announced tomorrow.
It seems the Julien off to Schalke deal has fallen through - it seems Schalke didn't want to take a risk.
Julien says he wants to be at a club where he'll get played but he's unlikely to get much game time at Celtic barring an injury, and he's one of the higher paid players in the squad.
Meant to say that the Bernabei transfer is subject to international clearance. Not sure that if they were strict in application that he'd pass the criteria (though being capped underage is a step in the right direction) but certainly under PL we seemed to get that clearance "squared away"
