The Official Celtic Thread

Celtic playing AC Milan in a friendly on Sat 25th July. Kick off at 3PM.

Probably to get some gametime for the SPL restart on August 1st and the CL qualifier play-offs on August 18/19 and 25/26.

Wouldn't be surprised if they've another "glamour game" lined up by then either.

Now all they need to do is sign some quality. Badly need a good keeper, think Sinisolo is only back-up standard tbh, and a penalty box predator. And a decent winger, and a real defensive midfielder, and.......

Two more pre-season friendlies announced.

Shels v Celtic in Tolka Park (capacity 6,400) on July 7th at 6PM and away to Sporting on Tuesday July 14th at 7:30 PM but in the Estadio Algarve near Faro - so if anyone is on their holliers in the Algarve it might be worth a look.

Notoriously good bargains to be had in the Swiss second tier.

For the benefit of future me... don't try and claim this as incredible foresight when this boy becomes a hero.

Trying to remember the name of the last guy we had up front from Switzerland - big money bit of a flop?

Edit: Albian Ajeti - 27 games and 8 goals - not great for a "marquee" striker signed from West Ham - for whom he hadn't scored - and reputed to have been on a large salary at the time.

Fingers crossed this French youngster is just one of two strikers to come.

In the worst kept secret of Scottish Football Martin O’Neill signed a one year deal to manage Celtic for the 2026/27 season.

But bizarrely Maloney and Fotheringham haven’t been signed (so far anyway).

Rumour has it they’ve been offered reduced salaries compared to what they were on last season when they helped change what was looking like a car-crash season into securing a very unlikely double.

Is there no end to the gratuitous screwing up of things by our board 🤷‍♂️

Celitc are said by Sky Sports Switzerland to be in talks with 24 year old Elias Fleet of FC Aarau. He's 6' 1" tall.

"The French forward enjoyed an outstanding season registering 22 goals and 6 assists"
Love the fact 6ft 1 is implying some sign of greatness.

Get him signed up with the Knicks for Game 5!
