We can't persist with CalMac Nygren and Hatate in midfield. Hatate who is unplayable when on-song rarely turns up for games these days. I'd say you could count on the fingers of one hand the number of good games he's had in 2025 - just goes through the motions.
CalMac is being put under more and more pressure with those around him not helping much and his confidence is starting to wane.
Nygren is a mystery - he blows very hot and cold, but at least he tries, unlike Hatate.
I'd be giving McGowan and even Engles a start ahead of Hatate, and if Hatate really must start hook him at half time if he can't be @rsed.
I'd also be giving Sinisalo more of a run - he's not left us down and Schmeichal is more and more living on past glories of the EPL - he may be OK with the ball at his feet but he doesn't control his 6 yard box at all. Bit of a fearty.
Liked the look of the new winger, he wanted to drive at his man at every opportunity, but balakwasha on the other side is mince - if he is away on African Nations duty we certainly won't miss him on his Celtic form so far.
Big big balls of steel by the new striker Iheanacho to take that very very fortunate penalty. Thankfully he slotted it.
Hopefully that snatching of 3 points instead of 1 in the most dramatic fashion will help galvanise the fans, team, and squad, and will calm things down. And with any luck the suits are out already planning for the January transfer window and will get in players early.
