Great read and Brian’s character comes through very well in it. He was always thinking about his game and how to improve himself.

It will be very interesting to see how he gets on with a Divosion 1 team if the call comes

Brian left at 15/16 so no he was never a Cork minor. He would probably have been a dual minor for 3 years he was that good

Online reports 1999 departure from cork city, which would have been when he turned 19, i recall watching him play a couple of seasons senior there and also two ireland u21 caps.

Played with Cork City from age 17-21. Went across the water and joined Preston in 1999, when he was 21.

Wow...Could have emulated his Dad so. We've lost a few over the years to the rugby and soccer!

His Grandad on his Mom's side of the family captained Cork to one of the four in a row - and he's still the youngest ever All Ireland winning captain - so he had it in the genes on both sides!

I think you’re right, I remember Brian moving to a Dublin club at 15 and that put paid to his GAA career
