Online reports 1999 departure from cork city, which would have been when he turned 19, i recall watching him play a couple of seasons senior there and also two ireland u21 caps.
 
Wow...Could have emulated his Dad so. We've lost a few over the years to the rugby and soccer!
His Grandad on his Mom's side of the family captained Cork to one of the four in a row - and he's still the youngest ever All Ireland winning captain - so he had it in the genes on both sides!

I think you’re right, I remember Brian moving to a Dublin club at 15 and that put paid to his GAA career
