the official betting thread.

IMHO if you offer a market and you let the prices go 24-48hrs stale then you can't have too many complaints.

Pay up (which he has) but immediately limiting the player isn't ideal.

It's not like the AK Odds were wildly out of line with the general market.

In most senses the market is weighted against punters.

Should they have their cake, eat it and have us pay for it too.
Just take the lowest price, you'll be grand.

Get over yourself, lad!

Highlighting the closure was enough.

The first couple of times I got gubbed i went a bit mental tbh. Had a twitter argument with the Victor chandler guy Chris (forget surname).

Pissed all over William hills sports betting page too. Took them a relatively long time to cop it too.

Now I just write the email.closing my account and requesting a deletion of data date.

Book review i put in the LF, but I know the denizens of this thread dont often go in there!

One of a kind: The rise and fall of Stu Ungar, the world's greatest poker player

If you like gambling and more specifically card games of any kind you'll love this. If you play poker you've probably heard of him. Basically he was the Diego Maradona of cards.

Was so good at Gin Rummy that by the time he was 20, he could barely get a game off even other world class players, as he'd DESTROYED them all, and I don't use that word for effect. It was like a dart player beating another one 11 to nil

So he moved onto poker and immediately became world class at that. Unfortunately, the same way some people are blessed with genius in one thing they are often hopeless at everything else and this was Stu. He could beat up the world at cards but struggled with day to day life due to a host of addictions.

I knew how this story ends going into the book (not good) but found myself hoping against hope that somehow the ending would be different. A really brilliant book imho that I cant recommend enough, if you're into the pastimes I mentioned above.
