Athletics Ireland deservedly copping a bit of flack for taking the two shotputters but not Luke McCann or Kate Veal when both had been invited based on rankings.

Similar administration wankery in Australia where their 1500m champ Abbey Caldwell who has the standard wasn't picked. Nick Bideau in the firing line as his role of coach, agent, selector for Aussie Athletics. He represents all three girls selected.

Security risk doesn't make any sense though, considering he could still buy a ticket and rock up to Birmingham and watch.

Womens 10k Sunday and Mens 10k Saturday and sunday are on at watchable times. 23:00 or so

The build up to this worlds has been low key.

Probably because its not on RTE.

A bit of Controversy so far with Nigel Amos the oft injured gold medalist/DJ and 800m runner getting popped for PEDs

Dozens of athletes are stuck with no visa which is a major fuck up by World Athletics/USATF.

Kenyan 100m fella Ferdinand Omanyanala the highest profile but he's sorted now
